Hi, I’m Serena!

I run a micro-bakery in here in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and I dream of owning a store-front cafe where I can hire my friends and family. I imagine a cute little hole-in-the-wall shop where customers can come have some soup, fresh bread, an espresso and a little sweet treat.

In 2018 I enrolled in Culinary School at Platt College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Shortly after beginning my studies, I found myself drawn to our baking assignments. It was through this experience that I began my journey as a self-made Pastry Artist. I learned to decorate cakes at the famous Merritt’s Bakery of Tulsa and was encouraged by the founder Bobby Merritt to pursue the art of cake decorating. Later on, I learned more about baking working for The Coffee House on Cherry Street. You may have seen me there from 2021-2022!

I started The Tree Trunk Bakery in 2021 shortly after becoming a mother. My business allows me to stay home with my daughter Eden. We are a homeschool family and working from home gives me the flexibility I need to make sure she has all her needs met.

She loves learning how to read, playing Minecraft, camping and drawing pictures of cats. Running a micro-bakery allows me time to teach her, play with her and take her to explore our community. The Tree Trunk Bakery is like my second child. I nurture my business and put unique care into each of the desserts I create. I put a lot of pride in my work, and I always have no matter where I was working. I find that being self-employed is the best way for me to get the recognition I deserve as a Pastry Artist.
